About NC High Country Backpacking

This is a four day backpacking trip, so backpacking equipment is required. The hike has moderate challenges! It is adventurous and designed for the masculine heart, whether young or old. First trip or one of many, you will enjoy the adventure, fellowship, conversations and story! We will delve into masculinity as God designed it and how we as men can live that out for the good of all.

We planned to hike the Art Loeb Trail from Black Balsam Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway north through the Shining Rock Wilderness to the northern terminus at the Daniel Boone Camp. Then we will take the Little East Fork Trail south to Ivestor Gap and back to the Art Loeb/Black Balsam parking area. This will make a 24 mile loop in some of the most panoramic scenery in NC. We will have plenty of time to explore and enjoy the fall colors. This is bear country so bear canisters are required for food.

Each day we will have conversations and fire time around our theme.

So join us for the 2019 NWA Wilderness Adventure in the Shinning Rock Wilderness high in the North Carolina Mountains.
